Our Mission. . .

The Brethren Home Community Windber, a not-for-profit senior community, pledges to provide the finest care for all residents in a Christian atmosphere, including all races and faiths. We also maintain our firm belief in benevolent care – our Home will not turn away residents whose financial resources have been depleted.

Our History. . .

In 1921, the congregations of the Western Pennsylvania District, Church of the Brethren, established the Church of the Brethren Home as a non-profit mission in senior care. In the ensuing decades, as demand for additional levels of care increased, facilities were constructed to offer independent living, personal care and nursing care. Today, the campus is incorporated as the Brethren Home Community Windber, a certified continuing care retirement community. Our strong relationship with the district churches continues to flourish through religious and volunteer-based activities.
