Continuing Our Tradition . . . . .
90 years ago, the Western Pennsylvania District Church of the Brethren founded the Church of the Brethren Home as a non-profit mission in elder care. Over the intervening years, our Home has responded to many changes in senior lifestyles. It has become a haven for persons of all religious faiths, expanded to include many levels of care and become a true "home" for our residents. With the construction of both independent living and assisted living facilities, our campus became a certified continuing care retirement facility and incorporated as the Brethren Home Community Windber.
We are proud of the progress at our campus and the fine ratings we receive from the state and Medicare. However the basic mission of our Home remains the same: Providing the finest care for all residents in a Christian atmosphere. To that end we also maintain our firm belief in the tradition of benevolent care. Any resident expending their financial resources will not be turned away from our Home; we will absorb the extra cost for their care.
Maintaining this commitment comes at a high premium, and your support is needed to help us carry on our mission. Please consider making a tax deductible contribution to the benevolent care fund. Your support of our mission will benefit those who deserve and need it most. All gifts are deeply appreciated.
